I love French country because it tells a story of warmth, texture, character, patina, antique history and a casual comfortable style.
I love French Country style for it’s warmth, flexibility and affordability! Being on a really tight budget I can’t go out and spend a $1,000. on a chair, but I can look for textures, lines and come up with something that fits. I also don’t live in a metro area where I have access to certain kinds of shopping. That’s a challenge sometimes. I love the way it’s also timeless, but can be updated. Personal touches really make this style I think, and I’d LOVE more inspiration on how to incorporate more ideas! And as an ex-librarian I love actual BOOKS!!! I hope you pick me! Thanks
My entire house is decorated in Country French. When I first got married over 30 years ago, I just fell in love with the beauty of the country french decor. I have been an avid follower of country french decor ever since, looking for just the right pieces to enhance my rooms!
When I was a teenager my girlfriend had a French bedroom set…you know the white and gold one. I wanted one just like it so bad and begged my mother for one. Of course i was the oldest of seven and my parents could not afford to get me one. Then I married my husband and tried to convince him we needed one. NOT! Was his reply. So over the years I have worn him down bit by bit and have slowly started my collection of any and all things French on a budget. Notably, is that one day I want to travel to France and go to their version of a flea market. Visit a castle or 10, enjoy a cafe and a croissant. I think it is safe to say, I love, Love, LOVE french country decorating. There is just so much more to see and do and experience! Au Revoir!
We’re on the road on vacation so I’m not sure if my comment about the book was received
Love the book, love your blog. Thanks for this generous giveaway!
I love the beauty and romance of French Country xo
I’ve always loved French County style even before I knew what it was called. As a teen I remember a friend’s aunt had beautiful furniture with wonderful details that I just loved. That was 50 years ago and eventually I realized her furniture was French County. That inspiration stayed with me all these years and I know I’d enjoy every page of that book!
French Country style bridges the centuries, allows other styles along side, and evokes a mysterious feel that there are many stories to be told if furniture could but talk!
French country is timeless beauty. It stands strong despite the current trends towards modern and sleek designs. French country spaces have soul and depth. Once you walk into such a breathtaking space, you don’t want to leave!
French country just feeds my soul
I adore French country style. My home is constantly evolving and I’m trying to incorporate a few antiques. To me it’s abiut an eclectic style that never looks dated or overdone. It is something really fancy paired with something plain. I can’t afford to buy all the real antiques, but I order from Ballard designs a lot. I never grow tired of chippy furniture, burlap, soft pillows, throws and candlesticks with a beautiful patina. Your home is amazing and I get ideas from reading your blog. Can’t wait to decorate for Christmas!
I love French country style because it honors antiquities that are not perfect but are perfect for the one who loves them. Everything does not have to be matchy but can become companions. It is beautiful in the eye of the beholder and fitting for the time and place. There is a rugged femininity to French country style. Thanks for giving us a peak at the book!
I became a fan after visiting France. I love the beams and limestone along with the neutral colors.
I love the French Country look because I lived for years on an old homestead with no electricity and phone etc. Our things were old and baskets, wooden shelves, big sinks etc. I grew up in a home with antiques and pretty toile fabrics. I raised my kids on the old farm and then in town. I am ^7 now and French and English Country are my style. I am not able to get the lovely book by Courtney Allison or this new one I found on Amazon. Now I have a peak at the content and I can hope for a chance to own it. Thank you Cindy for your Blog and all of my favs on your Blog Stlye joint posts. I love yoou all. My new friends. I have coffee with you daily.;]]
Hi Cindy, I look forward to reading your blog every Friday (and any other day of the week for that matter). I’ve been completely smitten with French Country style since I was a child. I had a doll house that my father gave me for my 13th birthday and together with my mother, who was a commercial artist, we decorated it with tiny little blue and white porcelain dishes, toile fabrics (which I consider to be a neutral, like leopard print clothing ;-), white washed floors and wrought iron gates. We finished a couple of rooms before I got too busy with homework and after school activities, but fortunately, when my mother downsized her house a year ago, we found my dollhouse in the attic and I’m now reliving my childhood and redecorating it with miniature faded Aubusson rugs, painting with faded hues of french blue, moss, dove grey and clay, installing gorgeous ceiling medallions, corbels and gorgeous 1:12 furniture pieces that I’ve gotten from wonderful etsy.com sellers. Such a fun hobby for me! And your blog always gives me great ideas. It’s so much fun to live out my French Country fantasies in a 1:12 scale. Next project – installing wood herringbone floors 🙂
All the best,
Maria
I think what I love most about French Country is that it is never “dated” as so many styles are. I would love to be the winner of this book!

50+ years ago we were given a bedroom suite as a wedding gift from my in-laws. We were graciously told to select whatever we wanted. Yes, you guessed it… It was French Country which at the time I never dreamed would forever be our favorite piece or, still be with us.
French Country is wonderful mixed with antiques or painted furniture, color to neutrals, and silks to simple fine linen fabrics. It is pleasing to the eye, comfortably charming and forever welcoming.
French Country has been in our home with an occasional (pretty) update and definitely here to stay.
The book “French Country” would be such an asset.

Anything French is my favorite of all time, but love French Country because it can be rustic or elegant or both combined.
Omygosh what Charm and character french country has >i< Always loved this style
Being from south Louisiana, there is so much French heritage in my surroundings. My ancestors came directly from Nantes, France into New Orleans some 300 years ago. So, french country is in my bones, so to speak!
I love French Country because it is elegant yet comfortable and inviting.
To me, French Country feels like home. It is ever evolving because it can be dressed up or down, combines old and new, formal and casual, expensive and thrifty and is romance at its best. It has a language of its own but ultimately says “there’s no place like home.”
Oh Cindy, thank you for introducing us to this gorgeous book. I would love to add this one to my growing library of French style decorating. What I love about French Country style is that you can go as simple or as elegant as you desire. It has many elements I love such as crowns, brocade, mirrors, French blue and gold, and alll the curves!
French country style refreshing and relaxing.
I love French Country design and decor because it evokes warmth to me. The soft color palettes and rustic flair sets the tone for a home well lived. Thank you Cindy for the chance of winning this book.
I have always loved French Style… I have also tried other styles but my heart always goes back to French Style. I love the curves of furniture this style brings and the patina of some pieces and of course painted French pieces. It would such a treat to add this book to my collection.

I would love to win this book…..so lovely. Love everything about your home, blog and projects!
French Country is the style of my French grandpa, that embraces styles from Belgium, Germany and Switzerland. It’s not stuffy, it blends beautifully with other styles, and is sweet even if you have one key piece. It’s not afraid to embrace color, bold or light, and cheers a room with its easy style.
What a great inspirational book. I love French country because it is classic and flexible. My French country is a relaxed and welcoming environment. I can take ideas from many sources and create my not too fussy, not too farmhouse rustic rooms.
Cindy….thanks for sharing this amazing new book. French Country decorating is both relaxed and comfortable. Mixing in antiques makes it all extra special.
How exceptional, I was salivating at each photo, who could not love all the gorgeousness of old French pieces, the patina tells its own story, if only the pieces could talk.
I love French Country style because of the layers of rustic and elegance that easily blend to look as though they evolved over time and bring warmth to any setting. I get my French Country inspirations from books and magazines and love to absorb them, page by page, again and again. Thank you Cindy for the chance to win this gorgeous book!
I love French Country because it is so beautiful and elegant. It can also mix with English antiques as well, which I also love.
Oh Cindy, I really need not to be selfish and just pass on entering, since I won the pumpkins from LoveFeast Shop, but I COVET this book!!! 🙂 LOL It will be added to my Christmas list!
I have been in love with French style furniture since I was a child, and my mother bought me a French Provencial bedroom suite. I have kept it through many moves and homes and plan to one day give it to my first granddaughter (hint hint to my sons)
I Love the idea of using European antiques and unusual vintage finds in my home….wood pieces , pictures. Collections , books , plants and and branches , and great fabrics all add to what I like about enjoying French Country style .
I too am a lover of the French Country style. I grew up with my mother loving this style as well, she just didn’t know the term for it. The curvy legs on furniture, the twists and turns of corbels, the chippy wood, and ornate handles all speaks of another time, a bygone time. It is an inviting style and one that can be mixed with white and wood tones. It has endless possibilities to me and that is some of the reasons why I love this style and try to emulate that in my humble home as well. Thank you for all of the ideas that you bring to us Cindy. 🙂
French country is warm and inviting, and something I never get tired of. Looks like an awesome book.
French country style lets me bring warmth and style into my home….
without being stuffy…

I fell in love with this book just looking at these few pages! French country is so just so warm and inviting. Thank you for bringing this book to my attention
Oh I love these images!! I do love the French style and can see some of these pieces with a coastal look. I have several pieces of furniture that have a French feel and I’m going to repaint them. I love the dining chairs and the china cabinet! Beautiful book!
I would be thrilled if I was the one chosen to win this beautiful book. I discovered the French Country way of decorating a few years ago, and I love all of it, from the elaborate to the simple and plain. I love decorating in soft muted colors, especially French blue, and my newest love, pale muted pinks. I tried going back to a more traditional style with fall colors, but find myself always gravitating back to French Country style once more. This sounds like a book I would never get tired of reading. I do Pinterest a lot, and actually have a board for this style, but I still love holding a book in my hand and being able to look at the photos over and over again.
Cindy,
I have loved French country forever. I loved and have books by Charles Faudree, whom I loved from the moment I saw one of his homes in the magazines. I live the fancyness and also the casual charm, and you are one of the best. This book looks awesome and I can’t wait to see it.
I love French Country because I can combine the style with rustic craftsmanship and timeless elegance. Love all the details in decorating French Country. It’s beautiful, sophisticated and substantial, but also very comfortable. Thanks for the give away. 🙂

European style has been my favorite for a LONG time, with French Country at the top. Whenever I see a photograph one of the first words that comes to my to mind is comfort. A room that is comfortable is welcoming, and that’s how I want my family and friends to feel when they come over. What you and your husband with help from your furbaby, have done to your home has been quite inspiring to me. I’m looking forward to doing more French Country projects around my home.
What I love about French style is the classic, yet lived in look.
Beautiful Book Love it !!
I love all of the very rustic french country. The way that you can blend the styles with other types of decor. I love the ironstone, baskets, old cabinets, bread board, linens, grain sacks. I love antiques and very feminine yet grown up style. French country ticks all the boxes for me, including not being stuffy. We need to be able to actually live in our home, so the relaxed look is great for a family-even mine with all boys. Thanks for the inspiration Cindy! I’d love to win.

I love French Country style for many reasons, but especially because it is timeless, classic, allows you to use new and vintage pieces and has a collected evolving look. Thank you for the chance to win such a lovely book.
I love French County! As Donnie and Marie would say…it’s a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll….It is primitive at times..yet prissy…It is formal without being pretentious….It is simple yet elegant..It is calm ..It is comfortable…and it can always make one smile…
The book looks amazing! French Country style is classic, elegant, and so inviting. I love the fact that it gives you a feeling of comfort and style.

I love French country style because it meshes well with so many other decorating themes and styles. You can dress it up or down and never be wrong!!!
French Country is classic, elegant and never goes out of style.
French Country design and decor I think I have loved since a child when I was in my playhouse arranging household cast offs and bits to make it pretty. I’m still “playing house” using the bits and bobs collected through the years. French Country is so pleasing to my eye and heart that I’m naturally drawn into it. Though having been a designer for many years and enjoying working with varying styles, FC is “where I live!”
French Country style is so warm and inviting. It’s the only way I decorate my home!
French Country style is always my favorite, its classic and never goes out of style.
I fell in love with French Country style while stationed in Europe. It somehow manages to be beautiful yet comfortable. Elegant but approachable. A true classic!
French country style is my favorite because the longer you collect pieces the more the house becomes so unique from anyone else’s. I have been decorating french country for over 30 years!
I love the sense of history…that a family has lived in one home for generations and passed down furniture and decor (even if they haven’t, the fact that it looks that way is enough for me). I love the look of old and worn of faded grandeur.
I love French Country because it is warm and inviting! The soft colors are easy to live with.
Love the style and warmth French Country gives to a home. This book looks wonderful, thanks for offering a great giveaway!
The book looks amazing! I love French style because it’s welcoming and classic…I don’t think I will ever tire of it…thanks for a great giveaway…fingers
