An Elegant Halloween, Some News, and More!
I don’t know if you’ve heard, but after months of thought, conversations, and lots of prayer, hubby and I have made a major decision. We’ve decided to put our home on the market and begin the process of moving back to the South/Gulf Coast area.
For many, many months, my heart has been aching to be closer to our children. All three of our boys, and their families, live in Florida and Alabama. Seeing them once or twice a year just isn’t enough for this mama! Our grandchildren are there, and our middle son became engaged a few months ago to a young lady that we absolutely adore. Our family is growing, but we feel like we are too far away, and we are missing so much.
It’s a little bittersweet, because we’ve put so much of our hearts, time, money, and energy into this old beauty of a house, transforming it into the home that we dreamed of. This wasn’t an easy decision to make, but in the end, nothing matters except family and making those precious memories while we can.
So, we have put our house on the market, and I’m slowly going through each room, editing the decor, putting things in storage, selling some pieces, and trying to “neutralize” the rooms for showing. It’s been a challenge, but I’m getting it done slowly. We’re wanting to downsize on our next home so that we don’t have as much upkeep. I’ve already sold quite a bit on our Facebook page, and will have more to sell as I clear out more rooms. Smaller items, I will list in our online shop. Larger items, like furniture and non-shippable items, I will list on our Facebook page first, so if you’re in the area, check out our FB page for updates.
It will be exciting to re-decorate and re-furnish a new home, but the most exciting part will be seeing our children more often! Please keep us in your prayers that this transition goes smoothly for us and stay tuned for updates!
Today is French Country Friday, and we’ve got lots to share! It’s all about Fall decorating, an elegant Halloween dinner, collecting ironstone, loving copper, and a fabulous tour of a French Country Home! Enjoy!
