Our dining room is ready for Christmas!
Our dining room has been decorated for awhile, but it seems like it’s taken me forever to get it photographed and this post written. I feel like Christmas has snuck up on me this year and has left me scrambling at the last minute to get everything done. I know that so many of you can relate.
Most of the Christmas decor in the dining room has been kept very simple this year.
I focused mainly on the dining table centerpiece, and then added flickering candles to the altar sticks and placed a pretty flocked tree in the corner.
The flocked tree in the corner of the dining room has been left totally unadorned, and I love the simplicity of just the tree with the white lights.
The focal point of the dining table is a very large cherubic angel blowing a horn.
I found this huge angel several years ago at a flea market in Montgomery, Alabama. It was hanging on the wall with broken wings, and the horn was loose and chipped. But as soon as I saw it, I knew that with a few easy repairs, it would make a stunning display piece.

This sweet winged cherub is sitting on top of a pedestal mirror that’s topped with a preserved boxwood wreath. I crowned his head with a smaller boxwood wreath as well.
The table is layered with seeded eucalyptus garland, lamb’s ear, ornaments in different colors, sugared fruit, and glittery turquoise ribbon.
Intertwined throughout are battery operated fairy lights that operate on a timer, so they will come on at the same time every day and then automatically shut off after 6 hours.
I think this angel was made in the 1970’s by a Christmas decor company. It had wire attached on his back when I found him so I think he was originally intended to hang.
On the sideboard is my collection of antique altar sticks holding flickering candles. It all looks so pretty at night with the fairy lights, flickering candles, and the flocked tree.
My mother loved and collected angels, and maybe that’s why I have such a love for them as well.
Against one of the walls in the dining room is a large angel statue that I found at an estate sale several months ago.
The angel stands with bowed head and folded hands, and stands on a very ornate pedestal that I’ve had for decades.
She has such a great look with a very weathered finish. Her only decor is a simple eucalyptus wreath highlighted with fairy lights.
In the corner of the living room is our Christmas tree decorated in turquoise, red, and gold.
Our entryway is open to the living and dining room so I added a few fairy lights to a boxwood wreath hanging on the mirror, and filled the urn with blue velvet poinsettias.
Have you noticed the new addition to this area? I recently found a second marble angel to display with the one that I already had.
These old marble angels are almost impossible to find. They were originally used as memorial statues, and they rarely come into the secondary market unless they have become damaged or broken.
As you can see the arm is broken on one of them, and one wing has been broken and repaired.
The newest one (on the right) has a broken arm as well and a missing wing. This doesn’t bother me at all, it just adds to their story. Both are made of solid marble and extremely heavy.
This completes our Christmas decor this year, and I can’t believe that this special day is only a couple of days away! I want to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas! I hope you and yours are richly blessed during this holiday season.
Merry Christmas,
Cindy

Also, I wanted to say the art on the wall perfectly completes the ambiance of your Christmas decor. Many Blessings this Christmas.
Such wonderful decorations Cindy! You say simple and I have to giggle. Simple yes, but at the same time divine. Since you already have so many treasures to combine and the talent to do so, you can define it as simple. You should see some of your fans decorations to see simple.
The cherub is incredible! Wondering if you did the repairs on your own.
I agree, your flocked tree is a statement with lights only and no ornaments. Your space is very special. Thank you for sharing.
Many Blessings to you and your family. Peace, Health and Happiness.
Thank you so much, Pam! Yes, I did the repairs myself…..using my go to, Bondo!
I noticed the gold cherub and the standing weathered angel right away, and am green with envy! Those pieces are beyond DIVINE!! Your home is a masterpiece, and I love everything you’ve done to make it so beautifully festive as we await the birth of Jesus!♥️Merry Christmas Cindy and family!!
Everything is just beautiful! Love angels also and buy everyone I see…. AND Miss RubyLou is an angel in her Christmas outfit. Have a Merry Christmas.
Dear Cindy,
Please forgive me for making a comment from one designer to another. Please add chain and lower your chandelier over your dining room table. It should be about 32” above your table. It really is not the kind of chandelier to be a ceiling fixture. Everything else is fabulous!! I love your angel. I think you find the most wonderful things!. Happy Holidays.
Cindy, Everything looks so lovely and the colors so peaceful looking as well.
Merry Christmas to you and your family as we celebrate the birth of Jesus. . Looking forward to see what you are doing in 2023.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful Christmas dining room and foyer. Love the angels. More than that I love that the Lord created REAL ones to be His messengers and our helpers! BTW, why do I envision a beautiful tapestry hanging where the mirror is in your dining room. ??? wink wink Have an abundantly blessed Christmas!
This is so beautiful and unique! Love the angels . Merry Christmas!
