Autumn is the season that tugs at my heartstrings, and brings joy to my soul. It’s a season that I long for all year long, anticipating the crisp Fall weather, with the first whispers putting me in the mood for caramel apples, apple cider, cozy throws, and evenings by the fire.
Autumn doesn’t last long enough for me, seeming to go by so fast. I just begin to enjoy my Fall decor when it’s time to put it away and start trimming for Christmas. That sentiment is magnified even more so in blogland.
This year I’ve decided to decorate in ways that make the transition through the holidays easier, giving me the opportunity to enjoy the decor a little bit longer.
When Tree Classics challenged me to create an Autumn tablescape using their Christmas garland and wreaths, I was intrigued, and to be honest, I wasn’t sure I could pull it off, but I love the end result!
Today I’m teaming up with Tree Classics and three other talented bloggers for A Toast to Autumn, showing you how I created an Autumn tablescape with Christmas garland and wreaths.
This is a way to decorate your dining table for Fall and when Thanksgiving is over, it will easily shift into Christmas!
When the wreath and garland arrived from Tree Classics, they were ready to display right out of the box.
All they needed were a little zhushing…..you know……..fluffing!
I took a few minutes to fluff the wreath and garland to give them a full and lush look. It’s so easy to do, taking a row at a time, working from the outside in, taking each tip and bending them out and up. When finished stand back and take a look, adjusting any areas that need attention.
I chose the Countryside Christmas wreath and garland because it already had some beautiful Autumn elements with pinecones and acorns.
To begin, I placed the garland down the center of the dining table, fluffing the tips, and opening up the realistic branches.
On the end of the garland are two wire hooks, making it very easy to create a circle on each end of the garland.
In the center I placed an antique plateau mirror that belonged to my mother.
It makes the perfect piece to elevate a center display.
I added miniature white pumpkins, velvet acorns, and sprigs of lavender to the garland for a bit more Autumn flavor.
With the addition of glass hurricanes filled with green apples, fresh Fall flowers in an ironstone tureen, votive candles and velvet pumpkins, our Autumn tablescape is done!
Are you wondering how I used the wreath?
I placed it on top of an old garden urn, added sprigs of lavender and a few mini white pumpkins, and nested a giant velvet pumpkin inside!
The wreath comes pre-lit with pretty white lights for a dose of evening romance.
After Thanksgiving, this tablescape will easily transition to Christmas by simply removing the pieces of Autumn decor, and adding Christmas ornaments or festive ribbons. Easy peasy!
