Decorating with Boxwood Wreaths!
I have had a love affair with boxwood for years, and preserved boxwood wreaths are the perfect addition for inside the home.
Preserved boxwood works in any room in the house, even the kitchen, and for every season and holiday.
Our french china cabinet in the dining room has had a boxwood wreath hanging on the front of it for several years. I love the way it brings in the perfect touch of greenery and texture to the room.
The boxwood wreaths are a staple decorating item in our home, and it’s a decor piece that can stay out all year long.
We have a large antique gesso mirror that sits over the french commode in the breakfast room, and we keep a preserved boxwood wreath hanging on the mirror. It’s easy to hang a wreath on a mirror by using a suction cup hook.
Preserved boxwood is seen all over the home decorating blogs, magazines, and in catalogs. It’s available in wreaths, topiaries, garland, and balls of all sizes. They are a unique and great way to decorate your home, bringing in some greenery, without having to water it or take care of it in any way.
This precious little cherub bust is so much cuter with a small boxwood wreath on his head!
Antique dough bowls are perfect for displaying a boxwood wreath and moss balls, creating the perfect layers.
Because the boxwood is preserved, they will last for years and years, and they have the look of real boxwood, because they are real boxwood.
Preserved boxwood has been specially treated so it retains it’s glossy, deep green color, and soft texture.
You don’t have to water it, or nurture it in any way. It’s zero maintenance. And for someone like me, that can kill the hardiest of indoor plants, that’s a win-win!
You get the beauty of a live plant without any of the work!
Nesting a small white baby boo pumpkin in this boxwood wreath added just the right touch of autumn decor.
Preserved boxwood is a timeless decor piece, and works in casual or formal settings, perfect for any holiday, adding a touch of elegance and freshness to any room.
Last year we added a small touch of greenery by placing a boxwood wreath on top of the wrapped packages under the tree.
The large lamb head that is in the kitchen, looks fabulous with a boxwood wreath around his neck!
I hope you have already discovered the beauty of preserved boxwood!
And if you haven’t, then you must add it to your decor!
Cheers, Cindy

I totally missed the drawing, but just wanted to say how beautiful just a little touch of greenery looks! Great examples and inspiration. Thanks!
I would love this hung over my heavy gilt mirror in the dining room.
I would love to have a boxwood wreath! I sure hope I win!!!
I love the boxwood wreath! I have the perfect place for it. I’d put it around the neck of an antique concrete statue I have in my bedroom. Thank you for the opportunity for all of us to possibly win this lovely wreath.
I would display over my wood Angel wings.
Just adore the boxwood wreaths!! I honestly cannot decide where I will put it! But more than likely it’s new home would be within a frame in my new studio! Thank you for the opportunity to win!
Fall Joy to You!
Becky
I would hang this in my kitchen. It were be the perfect pop!
Oh so many places to choose! I love the places you’ve used them. Perhaps it would begin in my dining room?
This boxwood wreath would look beautiful in my daughter’s house on her mantel.
I love the way you used it standing up, I would lean it against my pillows on my antique church pew in my dining room. And I agree with you in that I would display it all year!
I love boxwood wreaths and like you, I love to decorate with them! I have one in my dining room and three little ones in my kitchen!
I would love to add one more to my family room. I have a mirror above my fireplace and this wreath would look beautiful there!! Thank you so much for your beautiful ideas and thus giveaway!
I just found you via Pinterest! If I had one of these wreaths, I would copy your idea and put it on my antique gold mirror that looks just like yours! Love love it! What a gorgeous site!
I would definitely put it on my dining room mirror with the suction cups your mentioned in your blog. Love this wreath.
Love your ideas on decorating with this fabulous boxwood wreath. So many ideas also come to mind glancing throughout my 129 year old farm house. I would love to add this wreath to my new oval front door to help bring the outdoors in. I love to decorate with mosses, rocks and grapevine wreaths that I can leave up all year around . I also have several busts that would welcome a crown made from a beautiful boxwood wreath. Thank you for the give a way.
I would use the wreath anywhere in my house. We recently changed the furniture in our dining room. I painted a buffet with Annie Sloan french linen chalk paint. It’s pretty but the room needs some color. The wreath would provide the room just the pop of color it needs.
I have two boxwood wreaths exactly like these ones and I love them. I’ve done the typical thing of hanging them with wide silk ribbon and golden cherubs sitting in the crest of the wreath. But I want to get another one to put on the dining table with a cloche in the middle – and a vintage stone putti in the cloche.
I love how you have put delicate wreaths on the cherubs heads – so sweet.
I would love to hang a boxwood wreath on the front of an antique cabinet I inherited from my grandmother. It has mirrored doors that reflects the light in my breakfast area and it would be seen and appreciated by everyone that walked through our home!
Thank you for all the suggestions of where to use this wreath. I would use your idea of a suction cup to place the wreath over my antique French mirror.
Cindy, Boxwoods are one of my favorite also. I would place the boxwood wreath over my mother’s antique desk. She would have loved it as much as I.
OH I would love to have a boxwood wreath! I have always admired them but have never has one of my own. I would hang it on the front of my French country hutch!
Thanks! Michelle
HelloHello. I would love to have the boxwood wreath because I plan on taking an ugly damaged mirror down in my bedroom and uncovering the chimney beneath I’d like to put up a simple shelf and place two small gold, cherub sconces, that I picked up at a flea market, on either side. I would like to place that wreath above on the white brick wall.
Hello Cindy! I’m so enjoying getting your posts delivered to my inbox! They are the very first thing I open! Always a treat for me! I adore how you have displayed your boxwood wreaths & think this is a fantastic giveaway! If I were lucky enough to win, I’d love to display it on a mirror in my Mother’s entry hall (I’ve moved in to help care for her since my divorce). I miss having a home of my own to decorate, so I’m living vicariously through your beautiful blog! Thanks so much! Stephanie ~ AngelicAccents

Hi Cindy, I have many places I would love to hang this beautiful boxwood wreath in my home, but the place I think needs it the most is on a beautiful vintage mirror I just purchased. I know it would look just lovely, and give my mirror a pop of color!!!
I would use it in my powder room to give an exciting splash of green!
I would display the wreath on an iron piece above my master bedroom fireplace! THanks so much for the chance to win!
I tried to preserve my own boxwood but it didn’t work out. I have a vintage corner hutch that I have hung a set of antlers on top of the finial. I would love to hang the wreath over the antlers..
I would hang it on my pantry door with my battery pack mini white lights woven through it. It has a timer, so it is perfect for this time of year.

I would hang it above my fireplace, on the mirror. It would be such a blessing in my home!
Thank you!
Yes. I LOVE preserved boxwood wreaths, balls and even stems to green up a dull space (or, just because). I would love a wreath to put in front of a vintage wood mirror that I bought (even though I thought it was plastic) for $5 when we bought our claw foot bathtub…it was just a frame at that time. It was evening so I didn’t inspect it super well and the next morning I discovered it WAS wood. It’s over five feet tall and intricately carved! I paid almost $100 to have a mirror cut and installed behind the frame because it has a lot of what my kids call “in-ies and out-ies!”
Thanks for the contest! I’m new to your FB page and love your style!
I would love to win this boxwood wreath. I would hang it in front of the mirror in my dining room!
I love preserved boxwood of all kinds, I have a lamb head coming and would probably use it around the neck. But as you said they can go anywhere.
I love the look of the boxwood wreaths. I grew up with boxwood hedges lining our sidewalk at my childhood home. Unfortunately, the people who bought it tore down the large maple trees and the hedges. I think of my childhood home everytime I see these wreaths displayed on your site. I would probably put the wreath on an antique mirror like you displayed, but move it around too.
I would place it around the neck and shoulders of the large angel that sits atop my china cabinet …she protects and guides my granddaughter in heaven..she hugs and comforts our baby Kaia until we all are reunited.
I would love to win the wreath. I think I would either display it on my mirror in the foyer or on my mantle
I would pretty much “borrow” most of your ideas as the season change. I am hoping to put my house on the market, think how much this would help with my decor because a green thumb I do not have 🙁
I would put the boxwood wreath on my mantle mirror in our dining room! Thank you for the tip about using a suction cup to hang the wresth!
I would love to hang it on my mantle!
Oooooo I have the perfect place on my antique mantle in the living room. It has it’s original beveled and speckled mirror. I have my grandfather’s tarnished engraved silver tray from the last church he pastored displayed there along with a couple of religious statues. The boxwood would be the perfect touch of color!
I would love to win one of your beautiful boxwood wreaths to hang from my husband’s grandmother’s antique china cabinet.
over our small fireplace in the dinning room I have a picture for every season. my husband makes a frame for these , as some are puzzles we have clued to make a picture. i try to hang a wreath on the picture using a ribbon i believe the boxwood wreath would look great here.
I would put it in my family room in the centre of my shelves! Since they are white I believe the wreath would stand out and look fabulous!
I would display it on the gilded mirror in my dining room. Thank you for the great giveaway!
I think a boxwood wreath would be the perfect accessory piece for my architectural pediment.
I’d put it on a hutch in my breakfast area! Love it!
I would display this beautiful boxwood wreath on my baker’s rack in my kitchen. It is perfect for every season!
I’ve been keeping an eye out for one after seeing yours displayed on your China cabinet…that’s exactly what I want to do if I should happen to win. Thank you for the opportunity and blessings to you!
I would add it to my large mirror over my dinning area.
Love your blog and all the beautiful inspiration! I would hang the wreath around the neck of a large vintage sheep statue that stands on top of my hutch! Thanks for a great giveaway!
Will add a sprig of holly and hang it on the antique window over the bed in our guestroom to welcome my grandchildren when they come to Granny’s for Christmas. Cant wait….Merry Christmas to all!
Hi Cindy, I recently found a 24 inch standing tall silver leafed rooster. I used your idea of “Rub and Buff” in silver and it came out beautiful. I think I would place the boxwood wreath around his neck in front of a thrift store framed mirror I have restored for the Christmas holiday with a pretty red ribbon. The mirror hangs above the kitchen fireplace and he would be center staged there for everyone to see. Your home is stunning, I love your style. You are the email I open immediately before any other, anxiously awaiting what you are up to next! You truly inspire me.
With love,
Suzanne

I have a large mirror hanging over my bathtub – definitely there! Or maybe in my guest powder room – it would look lovely hanging on top of the shutters that peek onto my patio garden! Then again, my kitchen breakfast nook has been nudging me for a little touch of green … oh, so MANY different places I could hang a boxwood wreath!
I have a vintage french shelf/coat rack that really needs that wreath, my french hutch would look gorgeous with one hanging from it, my wooden rocking horse needs a necklace of greenery, etc. 😉 I can think of a dozen ways to use the wreath and would love to have one! Thank you for the giveaway! I love, love, love your blue server and have wished for as long as I’ve seen it I could replicate your paint technique on something in my home…someday…
i have a old window hanging above my coffee bar that need a wreath to dress it
I would lay this wreath down and put a chunky candle holder with a seasonal candle.
I just LOVE boxwoods and have boxwood hedges & topiaries in my garden and need to bring some boxwood indoors too. If I had a wreath, I’d display it all year by decorating it according to the seasons/months. Jan.-snowflakes/angels, Feb-hearts, March-clovers, April-cherryblossoms, May-real flowers, June-nests/birds, July-stars, Aug-faux sugared fruits, Sept-Nov-fall items, Dec-ornaments. I’d hang it on my large entry mirror, framed on a wall, on one of my windows and on an old fashioned iron wreath holder stand.
I would hang it on my Hoosier cabinet to add a bit of nature in my entryway!
That wreath would look so perfect layered on the large mirror in my front entryway. But I can also think of at least a half dozen other places that it might get moved to from time to time. You are right…boxwood wreaths are so versatile.
I live in Southern Arizona where there is very, very little green. I would hang a lush green boxwood wreath on my glass front door so it could greet all who enter! Wouldn’t that be lovely?!

My father made a beveled mirror which is scalloped and has a basket of flowers engraved on it. He worked in a glass factory when I was a little girl. I received the mirror after he passed and I would love to place the boxwood wreath on the mirror – which is in my foyer.

Love your home. I also have boxwood wreaths all over my home. However, what suction cups do you use? Everything I’ve tried, they keep falling off and won’t stay on the mirrors. Thanks for your time.
Vickey, I think the ones I’m using are from the Christmas dept at Lowe’s. They are just a round suction cup with a small metal hook attached. I usually rub just a bit of water (just a tiny bit) on the inside of the cup before using. Hope that helps!
Cindy, thanks so much for your time. I’ve literally tried everything. Will make a trip to Lowe’s. Your home is STUNNING
I have a piece of an old fence on one wall of our sleeping porch. As we have lots of trees that , of course, lose their leaves in the fall and winter, I would love to have a boxwood wreath to hang on it to bring a little life to our porch during winter months. We live on the Little Red River so even when it’s cold I sit out there alot. Covered up with a quilt to watch people fish. I love everything about your home and appreciate you sharing it with us.

I think the boxwood wreath would look perfect hanging on my daughter’s headboard. She has a love of nature and I think she would be thrilled to sleep with this beautiful wreath nearby.
Hi sweet Cindy! So glad you’re blogging about fall decor! I would hang the wreath on an old window I have hanging in my kitchen. It would be just the right amount of green for that space. Thanks for the contest!
It would look lovely on my entry door.
I love looking at the many ways you have used your boxwood wreaths! I would BE THRILLED to win this one & hang it on the inside of my front door. The door has beautiful beveled glass – and I love it – but you can see the back of the wreath I have on the outside. I think a boxwood wreath would be a beautiful design solution! Thanks for the opportunity to win one!

Love these boxwood wreaths! I have a formal mirror hanging over an antique washstand in my entry hall and along with a beautiful white grosgrain ribbon, I think that would be the perfect spot. Love the champ sign crate you have by the way! Diana. Aafarmboy74@aol.com
On a wall but high enough to protect it from my cats.
I honestly have no idea how I would use it in my decor. I am one who has to look at pictures for decorating ideas. As a matter of fact, I pinned one of your pictures from this post in the hopes of one day having something similar to it in my tea room. However, at the moment, I have a small buffet in my dining room. As seen in photos, I would probably hang it there. However, after obtaining one, I would have to google for other ideas and possibly start laying it/hanging it around to see where it would look best. 🙂
Cindy – you offer ideas for everyone – no matter their specific decorating style preference! I took note of the “suction cup” suggestion and will be using that in future – especially for upcoming CHRISTmas season. Anyway – would probably use the Boxwood Wreath on a Wreath stand in front of my fireplace.
Blessings,
Terry
Oh my! I would LOVE to have this wreath to hang on my old window above my bed!! It would look so beautiful there! Thanks for the opportunity to win this!
Such great ideas! Like your large lamb head in the kitchen, I have a large cow head in my kitchen. I’m thinking she needs a bit of ‘dolling up’ for the holidays! I’ve named her Gloria. With a boxwood wreath around her neck, she would look Glori-ous! Thank you for this fun giveaway!

Hi Cindy- I loved seeing your display of beautiful boxwood wreaths in your home. You are so clever and think of places to display them that I never would. They really show up well in your home because of lots of creamy, dreamy whites. I recently purchased a sheep head similar to yours and would love to use it with that or on any of the mirrors we have. So happy to see this giveaway in my mail this morning. Have a wonderful day !
This lovely boxwood is the perfect shade of green to enliven a space. I would hang it on my Prince of Wales mirror in my entry which is lacking in color. Thank you for the opportunity.
So many choices….I could hang it over the mirror on my gallery wall, from the doors of my secretary, over the fireplace mantle, from my four poster bed in my bedroom, and so on and so on and so on. Guess I need several!

I love that TV box idea!!! Ah, so many options!!!

There is a project running thru my thoughts and this wreath is the perfect solution. I have a large square frame which I have matted with a cream colored mat with gold stripes. A boxwood wreath in the center is my desire, just have not found a wreath that is in my budget. Hanging above my bed in my newly painted room would make my room complete.

Hello! I’m originally from Sweden but have lived in the USA for over 35 years. As far back as I can remember I have decorated with items from nature such as wild flowers, pine cones, sea shells and other items I happen to stumble across on my walks. When I first saw your web site with the gorgeous boxwood wreaths I almost cried because it took me back to Sweden where we often go out in the forest and pick Lingonberry branches for decoration, especially around the holidays. I would absolutely love having your incredibly beautiful boxwood wreath to display in my home to bring out the freshness of nature and beauty!!!
Sincerely,
Maria Schmelzer
