A new project for all of you velvet pumpkin lovers!

Many of you know that I love, love, love decorating with velvet pumpkins during the Fall season. Over the years, I’ve collected quite a few velvet pumpkins, and when Fall arrives, the first thing I want to do is pull them out of storage and sprinkle them around the house. When I saw this DIY velvet pumpkin wreath idea floating around Instagram, I knew that I had to make one!

This project is really easy and there isn’t a lot of time involved. I ordered all the supplies, including the velvet pumpkins, from Amazon. Here is what you will need:

• Velvet Pumpkins
• Grapevine Wreath
• Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
• Gold Paint (Optional)
• Ribbon (Optional)

The pumpkins I chose are an apple green color and they come in a box of 16 pieces, in three different sizes.

I wanted the stems to be gold so I used a metallic gold paint to paint the stems before gluing them onto the grapevine wreath.

After the stems dried, I started gluing the pumpkins onto the grapevine wreath, using a glue gun. I started with a row of pumpkins on top of the wreath and then filled in the inside and outside areas.

I ended up using almost 4 boxes of these velvet pumpkins on an 18″ grapevine wreath. Of course, you could use a smaller or larger  wreath, depending on your needs. Once it was finished, I tied a satin ribbon on it in a gorgeous peacock blue color.

I absolutely love how it turned out! I hung it on the Louis Philippe mirror in our foyer using a suction cup hook.

There is an urn sitting on the chest below the mirror that is usually filled with coral. I removed the coral and filled it with some of my velvet pumpkin collection in coordinating colors, and I also sprinkled in a few of the leftovers from the wreath. 

The pumpkins came in several different colors, so you could make one to coordinate with your decor very easily. They are very lightweight and are perfect for gluing onto the wreath without adding a lot of weight to it, and they have a really nice quality look to them.

There’s so many other projects that these pumpkins could be used for, only limited by your imagination! They’re also the perfect size for simply filling an urn or dough bowl for a centerpiece.

The best thing about this wreath is that it can be stored after the season is over, and I can bring it out again next year.
