Welcome to French Country Fridays!
I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July! We stayed home, cooked burgers and hot dogs on the grill, ate too much, and took two naps! Our granddog is still staying with us, and she is terrified of fireworks, so for most of the evening I had a 95 lb dog sitting on my lap while the fireworks were going off in the neighborhood. Thankfully, everything quieted down around 11:00 p.m. and she was able to go to sleep. I don’t know if you have a pet that’s scared of fireworks, but it can be quite distressing.
For this week’s French Country Fridays, we’re sharing paneled walls, bathroom inspiration, french country dining, and much more! Enjoy!

Cindy, I love the bathroom makeover. What paint did you use on the wall? BTW… the Foyer is gorgeous too.
Hi Cindy, we are working on planking our sunroom ceiling following your instructions (great how-to). Two-thirds finished! My question – can you share what you used for a white pickling stain. That is my favorite finish. Thanks for your help.
Hi Carolyn! Here is what we used: https://amzn.to/2KUTYwV
Your house is fantastic! Even though it’s illegal to shoot off fireworks after the 4th here, some just won’t give it up. I don’t care except for the fact that it scares my four dogs. My Scottie is trying really hard to remember her house training, but she puts one foot at a time out the door while listening carefully. If there is any loud noises, she turns right around. Her bladder must be taking a beating. On top of that, a neighbor’s house caught fire from fireworks, so the fire department was on my street at 3:30 a.m. Some people just don’t think.
Oh my goodness, I know exactly what you mean! I thought we would get a reprieve from the fireworks last night but about 9:00 p.m., they started again. My girl just sits and trembles. It breaks my heart.
Hi Cindy,
One 4th of July about 5 years ago, we couldn’t find my last dog anywhere. I thought for sure she wasn’t outside, then panic set in. Long story short, I found her in the upstairs bathroom in the bathtub. It’s funny now! lol.
I love the way you had done the paneled walls in your foyer. Beautiful!
Cindy
Aw, your sweet pup probably felt safe there. It’s hard to see them so stressed over the loud pops of the fireworks. Thanks for commenting!
Your foyer is truly exquisite Cindy….Happy Friday and have a great weekend!
Thanks, Shirley!
