I have fallen in love with everything I’ve tried from the Pure & Original paint line, and once again, I am blown away with the quality of this paint. Recently, I was able to try their Fresco Lime paint, and I can honestly say that I am completely smitten.
I have to admit, I was initially a bit nervous to try the Fresco paint, thinking that it might be a little difficult to apply, so in preparation, I watched all of the P&O videos on the application process. But in the end, it was very easy to apply, and I’m obsessed with the end result!
I chose one wall in my breakfast room to paint, but now, after seeing this luxurious finish, I’m planning to paint the other walls as well…..and I’m also looking around to see what other rooms I can use it in! Like I said, I’m totally enamored with this paint!
I’m also crazy about the Fresco brush that’s used to apply the Wall Prim and Fresco paint.
The lime brush is made of 100% pig hair and the long strands make a wonderful brush for applying the Fresco paint, providing gorgeous texture. It was a dream to use!
I started by taping off the mouldings, so that I could freely paint without worrying about getting the paint on the crown moulding or trim.
And then I applied a coat of the Pure & Original Primer {Wall Prim} in the same color as the Fresco paint, “Silver Like”.

One coat of WallPrim applied.
The color, “Silver Like“, has such a beautiful, subtle movement to the finish. Once I got started, it was hard waiting the 8 hours for the Wall Prim to cure before I could start the first coat of the Fresco Lime paint.
After the Wall Prim was completely dry and cured, I did two coats of the Fresco paint, brushing it on in vertical strokes, working in small sections, wet to wet. Each coat needed to cure 6-8 hours in between. I never thought I would hear myself say that I loved watching paint dry, but hubby and I caught ourselves doing that very thing. We were amazed at the soft, subtle texture that slowly appeared as the Fresco dried. We also kept touching the wall….soft velvet.

Second coat of Fresco Lime paint is applied, and we are waiting for it to dry.
The Fresco Lime paint gives the wall a deep, rich, luxurious appearance that is usually only found in the old European finishes.
Because I chose a lighter color, my camera didn’t do justice in picking up the subtle movement and texture in the paint. I wish you could see it in person! The darker paint colors are more dramatic, and show up much better in photos.
I am loving the new look. It creates instant history in the room.
And what I’ve noticed is that the accent wall now makes other colors in the room appear more luxurious against it.
There’s such a beautiful depth to the paint, with lovely, subtle, light and dark color variations. It has a gorgeous, aged look…one that you’ll only find in Pure & Original Fresco Lime paint.
I wanted to show you some examples of the Fresco Lime paint in other colors as well, so that you can get a better feel for the finishes that this paint can achieve.
My friend Diane, the artist behind The Paint Factory painted one of her walls in the color Steel Blue…it’s stunning.
And these are gorgeous examples of other colors from Pure & Original.
Fresco Lime Paint is made with 100% natural mineral paint, composed of quick lime and all natural pigments. When applied, Fresco Lime will become a part of the surface, not merely resting on the top of the surface like latex paints. The final finish is one of matte, unique shades, and strokes.
It’s also environmentally friendly! Lime paint has been used for centuries, as early as 1500 BC. ‘Fresco’ is Italian for ‘working wet’ and is best known in fresco wall murals throughout Europe. Pure & Original makes their Fresco Lime paint in ‘the old way’ and is available in 118 gorgeous colors.
After seeing the end result of this one accent wall in the breakfast room, I can’t wait to do the other three walls in that room. It provides such a rich, “Old World”, vintage, European look. Every other paint pales in comparison.

When you decide to try the Fresco Lime paint, or any of the Pure & Original paint line {see our post on using the Classico paint here} you won’t be disappointed. It’s of the highest quality, and in my opinion, the best paint line I’ve ever tried. I can’t wait to do the rest of the breakfast room walls!
Cheers,
Cindy
{Pure & Original provided the paint for this post, however all opinions are 100% my own!}
Wow, even with the lighter color of your paint, you can definitely see the depth to the color. Just stunning. Pinning this for reference when I need something special on my walls. Thanks for sharing your experience with the paint.
Have a wonderful day.
Lynn
Cindy, This paint just took your room to an even higher level! I want to try the color that you used. Thanks for sharing
Cindy..Excited to hear about this new paint line!! Also love your new wall colors as well as all the fabulous reno projects you have completed. Just wondering if they plan to make the paint in a Coral color. The only thing on their color chart is the red…not sure if that would give me the muted Tuscan color I’m looking for. Thanks!!!
I’m checking on a coral color for you, Barbara!
Barbara, I think these are the closest Coral colors:https://edithandevelynvintage.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/POCorals.jpg. “Courtly Rose, Terracotta, and Kenyan Copper”.
Barbara, here is another sample with some of the beautiful colors from Pure & Original that would work in a Tuscan themed home! https://edithandevelynvintage.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/POCoralColors.jpg
THANK YOU, CINDY!!!!! Oh my goodness, I love all of these wonderful colors and appreciate your researching for me!!! I think the Lipstick would be fabulous in my small French guest bathroom…but I am so fickle, I love the Ocre, Brown Red and so many others…decisions, decisions!!! 🙂
Hey Cindy! This is indeed quite lovely! No wonder you are so excited! I am definitely a paint I would love to try. Beautiful!!!

Pinky, they are all so gorgeous! Have a great weekend!
Cindy….Beautiful! Could you tell me what paint you used on your brick walls? I have a fireplace wall that I would love to paint but am nervous that it won’t take!
Hi Leslie! We used Sherwin Williams Pavestone, semi gloss latex, on the family room fireplace. It took two coats. It was very easy to paint!
Thank you!!
Cindy, this is so beautiful and I love the look! And it looks amazing with your beautiful blue buffet. You did a wonderful job!
