After finally finishing the renovation of the foyer, hubby and I decided that we needed a mini vacation!
So we headed to Florida for a few days of relaxation, good food, and a little treasure hunting.
It was so nice to get away for a few days.
We slept a little later, took long walks, drank some good wine, and ate some amazing food.
We were able to spend a few days with our middle son, and he took some of his vacation days as well, so we were able to enjoy a some wonderful time with him.
We had so much fun antiquing in some of our favorite places in Central Florida, as well as finding a few new shops that we hadn’t been in before.
We found some beautiful things, and even though the majority of what we found will be listed in the online shop, I just might have found a few things to keep for myself!
When we arrived back home, I had received several of my shipments that were coming in from France, so it was fun to open those boxes as well, and get everything spread out to photograph.
It seems like we’ve only been home long enough to wash clothes and repack to leave again on another little trip.
We have a new addition to our family coming, and we are heading to Georgia to pick her up and bring her home.
Ya’ll were so amazing and supportive with your kind words when we lost our precious girl Lulu last November.
We’ve waited until the time was right to look for our new baby and we finally found her several months ago.
We have been {impatiently} waiting for her to get old enough for us to bring her home and the time has finally arrived.
Meet RubyLou!
You will be seeing more of RubyLou as she joins our family, with lots of photographs in upcoming posts. We’re so excited to bring her home….and hubby is over the moon!
Cheers,
Cindy
I guess you have RubyLou home by now and are enjoying getting to know her! What a sweetie!!! What a well deserved vacation! The foyer is magnificent!!! Can you give me some ideas of places to go antiqung in central Fl.??? My SIL lives in that area but out in the boonies. Thanks:):)
Thank you Pinky! Yes, RubyLou is home and we are spoiling her rotten! My very favorite places to antique in central Florida is Adjectives Market in Altamonte Springs, Rennigers in Mt. Dora, Ocala Antique Mall in Ocala, and the Wildwood Antique Malls in Ocala and Wildwood.
Wow! You sure found some nice treasures on your much needed vacation! Can’t wait to see more pics of your new girl RubyLou! She will definitely help to heal your hearts! She sure is a little beauty!
Thank you Sandy!
RubyLou! I may just have to use that name in a story sometime!
Haha, Leslie Anne, RubyLou would be thrilled if you used her name in a story!
Congrats on your new bundle of joy. She is so cute. How and where do you order items from France? Or is that an ancient chinese secret? I like all of your beautiful things and you love to use moss. I too, buy and make moss spheres and a number of other things. Thank you.
Hi Marisa! I’ve actually been fortunate enough to have been introduced, several years ago, to several French sellers by a friend of mine that is an importer. Over the years, we’ve developed a relationship where they know what I look for and are always on the lookout for me at the French flea markets and brocantes. Thank you so much for commenting!
I lost my heart to that rusty white duck! And to your new girl. looking forward to meeting her soon.
Thank you so much! We just got RubyLou home and she is indeed a cutie!
Having three older doggies I know how sad you were. I am so happy for your new arrival! Enjoy her and love her!
Thank you Jodi! RubyLou is home and we are enjoying spoiling her rotten!

Hi Cindy, All of your treasures are wonderful but none can compare with that little precious poopsikins, Ruby Lou. We also took our time finding just the right little girl for us and she has brought so much joy to our lives as I’m sure your pup will as well. You both hit the jackpot! Hugs to all,
Thank you Pat!
Dear Cindy … I just noticed that you have a Mora Clock in your gorgeous Dining Room. Is that new? I fell in love with Mora Clocks after seeing my first one in your kitchen dining nook!! Can you show a full photo of the one in your formal Dining Room and tell us a little about here you found both clocks? Thank you so much!
Karen Murphy
Hi Karen! I do have a wee bit of an obsession with Mora clocks! The one in the dining room is a reproduction that I found in a flea market and revamped it with some paint and a new clock face. Here’s the link to the post that we did on it: https://edithandevelynvintage.com/a-swedish-mora-clock-sort-of/

There is absolutely nothing like getting a new, much loved, puppy. When we had to put down our much loved Cavalier King Charles, it took us only 17 days to get our new Cavalier. He was 7 pounds of pure love and it was instant love on both my hubby and my own parts. After one year he weighs an entire eleven pounds and will stay there. You would think we have no other interest as he really is the center of our life these days. Enjoy every minute of her puppy self.
Aw, thank you Alice! We are so excited to bring RubyLou home!
Ruby Lou looks darling and I’m sure she’ll bring lots of love and fun into your beautiful home! Nice to get away for a break and visit with family! Your new treasures look lovely!!
