This is my favorite monthly estate sale!
Every month, on the first weekend, my favorite estate sale is held in Mobile, AL.
This fabulous monthly estate sale has been held for many years. It’s Mobile’s oldest and largest monthly estate sale, and luckily, I have attended it from the beginning of it’s inception.
Over the years, I have rarely missed a sale, even when we lived in another state.
There is such a great selection of antiques and the prices are very good.
With each sale, I always manage to find some great pieces at wonderful prices!
This month, I thought I would share with you a little sampling of the treasures that can be found at this sale.
The venue is huge and there’s always something for everyone!
This French sideboard was a beauty. It was painted in gray with a creamy white trim.
I seriously considered bringing it home, but not knowing where I would put it, I passed.
I’m always drawn to these carved pedestals.
They are so versatile and can be used in so many different ways.
This pretty table immediately caught my eye.
I love the painted scenes. I believe it’s Hungarian in origin.
Looking for antique furniture? Look no further!
If you are looking for antique furniture, this 4 day monthly estate sale is the place you need to be.
The selection is amazing and you can find many different styles and periods of antiques.
You will need to get there early for the best selection, because things usually sell very quickly.
The doors open at 8:00 a.m. on the first Thursday of the month, but the early birds get there around 6:30 a.m. for first dibs.
On Thursday and Friday of the first weekend of the month, everything is priced as marked.
On Saturday, smalls and artwork is 30% off, and on Sunday, 60% off.
There are walls and walls covered in amazing antique artwork and mirrors.
I love this pair of vintage Italian sconces.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t quick enough, and they went home with someone else.
This pretty French chaise was gorgeous, and I’m halfway kicking myself that I didn’t bring it home with me.
I rarely find these in this wonderful condition.
You can see those beautiful curvy legs peeking out.
There’s something for everyone!
The furniture, artwork, and smalls go on for miles.
Not only do they have this huge monthly estate sale, but there is also an amazing antique store
attached as well, giving you over 15,000 feet of antique paradise!
There are hundreds (maybe even thousands) of antique books covering any and all subject matter.
This is where I always load up on antique French books.
This little french chest was a true beauty.
I wouldn’t have done a thing to it. It was perfect as found!
The selection of antique and vintage lighting is usually plentiful with a wonderful selection of
chandeliers, sconces, and pendant lighting.
There are tables and tables covered in antique glass ware with a selection to entice any decor style.
The selection of small items for sale is a bit overwhelming, with prices starting at $1.00!
There are rows and rows of tables with pricing at $1, $3, $5, $10, $15, $25, and then individually priced.
There’s something for everyone and every budget.
Antique French clocks always attract me because they are like works of art.
I don’t even care if they run or not, it’s the sculptural beauty that draws me to them, and there were some beauties at this sale.
If dishes are your passion, then you’ll be in heaven with tables and tables of dishes, china, and flatware in a myriad of patterns and colors.
I fell in love with this gorgeous floor clock.
It was very tall, standing around seven feet, and the wood was beautiful.
There seemed to be an abundance of bombe chests at this sale, and this one caught my eye.
It didn’t come home with me, but now I’m wishing that it had!
Once I was finished shopping the estate sale, I had to take a peek inside the antique shop.
The two owners, Charles and Greg, source the most breathtaking and amazing antiques from around the world.
This stunning Christ statue is made of cast iron, and has gorgeous patina.
It’s much larger than it looks in the picture.
I always wonder at the stories behind these pieces…..if only they could talk.
This set of french chairs in the original blue paint are drool worthy!
I could just imagine them sitting around my breakfast table.
We found lots of goodies for the shop and I also found a few for myself!
Now you know why this is my favorite estate sale!
I can hear you shouting at the page, “WHERE is this place?”
Well……it’s Old Mobile Antiques Gallery in Mobile, Alabama!
Their amazing estate sale is held the first weekend of every month…..it’s an experience that you don’t want to miss! And I just might see you there!
Cheers, Cindy

I can see a major problem in my future. This looks very additive. Mobile is too close to New Orleans.
We have several people that drive over from New Orleans every month to attend this sale! Thanks for commenting, Avery!
I had no idea Alabama was a hot bed of French antiques! In my area it would be THE most unusual and amazing thing to find anything French. No settlers from France in our state except a very tiny area…and most of them have long past on.
I went to this sale last August based on your recommendation. I live in Texas, and we were headed home from a Florida vacation, and we planned the trip home around the sale (with 3 kids in tow, no less). Had I not been already pressed for space from that road trip, I would have purchased half the sale. As it was, I filled every nook and cranny in the car and carried a lap-full home to Texas. Thanks so much for sharing!
That’s awesome, Amanda! I’m so glad you loved it!
Sending prayers for your sons and all others in the path of Irma. I lived in Winter Park and other places in FL for 26 years so I understand your concerns. Your vintage finds are super. Can’t wait to see their transformations. We have some really great antique shops and auction houses here in SE PA as well. Always thrilled when I come across just the right piece, especially if it’s at a terrific price.
Thank you for your prayers, Bobbi! We are very familiar with Winter Park, some of our favorite restaurants are there!
we are directly in the path of the hurricane on the east coast of FL just north of Palm Beach. Our son and his fiancé, my mom, brother and sister In law are all in south Florida too. and our daughter and son in law and grands are in Savannah. whew! we have weathered SO many storms growing up in south Florida but I gotta say this one has me spooked. that’s why I can’t sleep tonight. praying for your boys.
Oh, Pamela, it is very scary! I will pray for your family’s safety. We lived on the Gulf Coast for many years and went through quite a few hurricanes as well, and, like you, this one looks worse than any I’ve seen.
Fun watching you shop. That chair for $68! You would never see that in california!
Lucky you. I’ll be praying for your two boys.
Thank you, Linda!
My thoughts are with your sons! My daughter is also in South Florida and it is scary!
The pieces you’ve shown here are gorgeous! Wish I was closer.
Prayers for your daughter, Mary! Hopefully, they will all be safe.
Prayers for your boys and all the people who will be affected by Irma….$68.00 for such a beautiful chair is awesome!!! Thanks for sharing
Thank you for your prayers, Jeanie!
Love this post and I too will pray for your boys.
Thank you, Mary!
Thank you for sharing all these goodies with us. I know we will make a trip there!! My son lives in Houston and he is fine, thank God. We have friends that live on St. Croix and Grand Turk. We are praying hard for them so I will definitely include your sons and all those in US and territories for sure. Connie
Thank you so much, Constance!
Oh, I hope your sons head north! Irma looks scary!
Oh, that cream colored French chair for $68! I love it! And what a good price! Great article!
Thank you, Karen!
Thanks for sharing this beautiful estate sale! Love the photos of the treasures you saw. I’m curious, what did you bring home with you? Oh that Pink chaise was gorgeous! I also loved the bronze chandelier! I too am praying for everyone affected by Irma. We don’t need another national disaster. I feel so bad for all the folks on those tiny carribean islands that were recently hit. Folks will still be recovering in Texas for a very long time.
Thank you, Sandy! We are all praying!
OMG…I would have no money if I was at this place!!! It’s a good thing I live far away! Can’t wait to see all your treasures. Thanks for sharing so I can drool over those clocks, chairs……
Thanks for sharing such a wonderful place I would love to go there one day! I spied many items I would love the chance at purchasing.
Your sons and all in the path of Irma are on my prayer list.
Blessings,
Candy
Thank you so much, Candy!
Great info for the sale! More importantly prayers for your boys!
Thank you, Regina!
Wow, I’d love to visit that sale someday, but alas being on the West Coast probably not going to happen. On a personal note, I’ll pray for your boys and all of Florida. My SIL, daughter and grandkids just moved to Houston in June. I was a wreck when Harvey hit, but thankfully they escaped any flooding or damage.
Deb, thank goodness your family is ok. It’s indeed scary, and I’m going to be a nervous wreck until this storm is through and my boys are safe.
I, too, have 2 kids – in Tampa…so praying with you. Thank you for the chair instructions. I may work on a tufted sofa my daughter has, so this helps! The love of the Lord be with you. Deborah R. From NWArkansas
Thank you, Deborah! Prayers for your kids in Tampa!
Thoroughly enjoyed your post! Thanks for the tour! I will remember to pray for your sons in Florida.
Thank you, Jan!
Oh my!….this is definitely a field trip once I sell this house!!…thanks so much for sharing your favorite antique destination….I so love the chairs you have given a home to…and those clocks are truly exquisite! I will be praying for your sons’ safety…my Florida family have already begun to evacuate with exception of the Ocala families..they are ready to go if needed. I am doing some prep myself…it’s my South Flroida mentality…just in case it decides to pay us a visit in NC…we lost power in the last storm. Again thoughts and prayers are with your sons.
Thank you, Shirley! Praying that your families are safe!
Thanks for the heads up on the estate sale in Mobile…looks like a good excuse for a road trip from Nashville! Could you post some of the prices if you remember them? Like how much were the set of blue French chairs? Or the bombe chest?
I’m praying for all those in Florida and the east coast as Irma may turn and go up the coastline. We have friends that live on the outermost island in the Atlantic near Outerbanks, NC. It’s going to be bad.
Karen, I don’t remember the prices. I do remember that the set of blue French chairs were high, and out of my budget! Keep praying for those in the path of this monster storm!
Thanks for the outing today! Although too far unless a planned destination for junkin’ journey, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
We, as a nation, should all be praying Irma loses its strength.I know it’s a difficult thing for many to just up and leave, but it is a frightening thing for the entire east coast right now. I’d say your sons should evacuate – stat!
I agree, Rita!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful place! I’m praying for your sons – and all in the path of this storm.
Thank you, Jacki!
