Frenchy Grain Sack Dining Chairs

French Decor· Grain Sack Upholstery

I have a weakness for chairs…….not shoes, handbags, or dishes……..chairs! I love frenchy chairs…..you know….. the ones with  curvy legs, feminine lines, romance.  I recently found four dining chairs at a flea market that had all the requirements. They just needed some updating from their ugliness. Which in my world is paint and upholstery. We painted the wood in Annie…

Latest Estate Finds!

Estate Finds & Treasures

We’ve been busy, busy, busy getting some of the latest estate finds listed in the shop!  We have found some beauties! This is a French marble angel statue. Isn’t she gorgeous?!? She is solid white marble, she came out of a Pennsylvania Catholic diocese, dating to the late 1800’s. Hesitated about selling her, but decided I would put her in…

The One That Got Away….Almost!

French Decor· Swedish Mora Clocks

I have a bad habit.  One that I need to break.  I second guess myself.  A lot.  I need to learn to trust my instincts.  Sometimes I will see something while out pickin’ that I will know that it could be fabulous with a little work or repurposing.  But something will happen and I will talk myself out of it, and usually…

French Sofa Redo

Grain Sack Upholstery

I have had an ongoing search for an antique French sofa forever……… I finally found one at an estate sale in the South!  I dreamed of painting it in Annie Sloan Old White and covering the upholstery in vintage grain sacks.  When I saw this sad looking little lady, I could hardly contain my happy dance!  She’s from the late…

Who is Edith and Evelyn?

Who Is Edith & Evelyn

We get asked a lot, “Who is Edith and Evelyn”? Edith is my mother. The strongest woman I have ever known. We didn’t have much growing up and always struggled to make ends meet.  A stay at home mom as so many were in those years, when my father suddenly died at the age of 51, my mother  found herself…

Instagram post 18117106717009468 Hubby brought me flowers home from the grocery store and we realized that all the vases, pitchers, etc are still packed in boxes. The only thing I could find was my giant French mustard pot, which will work for now! Moving during the holidays is not fun! .

Instagram post 17989706242284421 What is it about a snowy flocked tree that makes my heart beat faster?!? This flocked beauty looks bigger than it is because we placed it inside a large cast iron urn, elevating it higher. I love placing Christmas trees in interesting containers.

Instagram post 18026106499246225 When we bought our home several years ago, we found an old abandoned Christmas tree in the attic. I used it in decorating the master bedroom after flocking it with “faux snow”. It turned out to be one of my favorite trees!

Instagram post 17849985346730700 Hydrangea trees appear to be very popular this year! I made this small hydrangea tree two years ago using a small grapevine tree as a base and covered it in dried hydrangeas, then nestled it in a bed of evergreen inside an old garden urn. You could also use faux hydrangeas if you don’t have dried. It was very easy to make!
