I’ve always had a soft spot for furniture pieces

I’ve always had a soft spot for furniture pieces that are imperfect, timeworn and storied. Such was the case with this petite French bombe chest. My friend found it for me and told me it was damaged and unsalvageable, having soaked in Hurricane Katrina’s flood waters for weeks. But I loved its story and decided that I would salvage it and give it a makeover, all the while keeping its storied scars! Today, it’s one of my favorite pieces! I found this pretty antique chest at an estate sale this past weekend. It has such a pretty hand painted detail on the front! It’s pretty large, and after bringing it home, it didn’t fit where I thought it would go, so we did some “musical chairs” with the furniture over the weekend!
