Have you ever used faux plants outdoors? I’ve always decorated with faux topiaries, and recently, I added a fabulous faux olive tree from Nearly Natural!
People that know me, know that I pretty much have a brown thumb when it comes to growing plants.
Every year I’m so excited to purchase pretty flowers and plants for my outdoor living spaces, but without fail, by the middle of Summer those plants are either dead or dying.
This year, the Summer heat has been really intense here in the South, and I’ve really struggled to keep my outdoor plants alive and thriving. I have to say, that I have failed miserably!
None of my flowers and potted plants have survived the heat, and my ferns are struggling. However I have a wonderful solution! Decorate with faux plants that are UV resistant and approved for outdoor display!
The faux plants of today are a far cry from the artificial plants of my mother’s generation! Today, faux plants are so realistic that only you will know that they aren’t real!
Recently, I decorated a little corner of our porch with a new addition, a faux olive tree from Nearly Natural.
I have several faux plants and topiaries from Nearly Natural and love them. They are so real looking and they hold up so well against the outdoor elements. One set of topiaries on my front porch are almost 6 years old and they are still in perfect condition.
I love using faux plants in my decor for several reasons. One being that they are low maintenance and require no watering, pruning, or fertilizing, which saves me time and money.
Faux plants are also versatile and can be used in a variety of settings, such as in homes, offices, and public spaces, without the need for natural light or proper growing conditions. They can also provide a pop of color and texture to a space without the risk of allergies or attracting insects.
My faux olive tree is approved for outdoor use. It’s maintenance free and UV-safe so it won’t fade, and it’s safe for pets, so it is Miss RubyLou approved!
Faux plants are perfect for any outside space, from the patio and backyard to the front porch.
I love that this olive tree came in it’s own decorative container with river rocks! It has beautiful green foliage and a realistic brown trunk, and if you look closely you can see tiny faux olives!
In case you’re not familiar with an olive tree, it’s a type of small evergreen tree that is native to the Mediterranean region. It is known for its distinctive silver-green leaves and its ability to produce olives, which are commonly used to produce olive oil and as a food ingredient. They are commonly used in landscaping and as ornamental trees in gardens and parks.
The olive tree is often seen as a symbol of strength, longevity, and peace, and it has played an important role in many cultures throughout history.
Faux UV-resistant plants can be a good option for displaying outside, as they are designed to withstand exposure to sunlight and other outdoor elements. These types of plants are typically made with materials that are resistant to fading, cracking, and other types of damage that can be caused by prolonged exposure to the sun. Nearly Natural is always my “go to” for faux plants. They have the best selection and prices. I’ve always been so pleased with everything I’ve received from them, and their products last for years.
So, if you’re like me and tired of trying to keep outdoor plants alive, perhaps a faux plant is the perfect solution!
Cheers, Cindy

Your screened in porch looks fabulous as always. That crucifix is stunning. I LOVE the olive tree…it is spectacular! Your fern and the planter it’s in are also absolutely gorgeous. Your weather must be perfect for your ferns. Mine look awful. It is just so hot here, and since my knee surgery in April, I haven’t been able to give my fern the TLC it needs. I’ve given up…time for mums! (which also don’t do so well here until it cools down) Ruby Lou is just precious!! Looking forward to what you have to show us next!!
Thank you so much, Beth! I am so ready for Fall as well! ❤️
I make potted faux greenery arrangements for every season for my north-facing balcony. I love the creativity of designing new arrangements each season and I have the best-looking balcony in my apartment building!
What a great idea, Teddee!
It looks real! And I love the upkeep . Going to have a look at Nearly Natural now.
They are fabulous faux plants and hold up so well! My front porch topiaries are from Nearly Natural and I’ve had them for many years and they still look beautiful! Thank you for commenting, Jacki!
