We’ve been working on several different home projects and I wanted to share what we’ve been up to!
There’s been a couple of home projects that we’ve been working on and even though our home is currently upside down, I wanted to share a little update as to what we’ve been working on!
I know that I’ve mentioned this before, so you may remember that I love creating paneled walls for a custom detailed look. Adding moulding to existing walls is such a great way to elevate the look of a room. It makes an amazing impact!
We’ve been adding the picture frame moulding to the wall in the hallway that leads to our guest bath, laundry room, and garage, as well as all of the walls in the living room.

Hubby has been measuring, cutting, and installing the moulding to the walls to create the boxes, and I’ve been going behind him and caulking (ugh!) and then painting the entire wall, as well as the crown moulding and baseboards.

We added paneled walls to the foyer of our previous home and loved them! You can see that renovation by clicking HERE. And for a couple of years, I’ve been toying with the idea of adding paneled walls to a bathroom (See my inspiration HERE).

When we bought this home, all of the walls and crown moulding was painted in a creamy off white which had distinct yellow undertones. I’m slowly re-painting everything in a gorgeous white, Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace.

Re-painting the walls and all of the woodwork has really made a difference. Everything looks so much brighter and cleaner.
Of course, now that I’ve started, every room will have to be painted, so I’m taking it slowly and tackling it one wall at a time! I may still be doing this a year from now!

In the photo below, you can see the difference between the wall that’s painted in Chantilly Lace, and the crown moulding that hasn’t been painted yet.

It really is amazing how adding the picture frame moulding customizes a plain room. I’m so excited to get it finished and painted.

I spent most of today painting one wall while hubby worked on the next large wall in the living room.
Everything is chaos until we get it finished, and I’m trying to maintain my sanity until I can get everything put back together, but I know it will be worth it!

To make things even crazier, I also began updating the guest bedroom at the same time. It was painted in a pale yellow and nothing in the room was cohesive. I hadn’t planned on updating the guest bedroom until the living room was finished, however when I was given the opportunity to try a new peel and stick wallpaper from the company OnDecor.com, I changed my mind.
When OnDecor reached out asking me to try their wallpaper, I immediately knew that the wall behind the bed would be perfect for an accent wall, which kicked off this makeover.

I chose the Blue Vintage Damask Wallpaper in a fabric texture.

(Please pay no attention to the rug and bedding….all of that will be changing!)
I’ve used a lot of peel and stick wallpapers, and this brand has to be the easiest to install that I’ve ever used. And the texture is very “linen like”. It almost feels like fabric on the wall.

I love how easy it was to install. I literally hung it in one afternoon!

OnDecor has been gracious enough to offer a discount to our readers! If you’re interested in ordering some of their wallpaper, go to OnDecor.com/cindy and use the discount code “CINDY” to receive an additional 10% discount on your order (everything is already 50% off!).

The walls will be getting painted in Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray, and the rug and bedding will also be updated. I can’t wait to get both the living room and guest bedroom finished and show you the “after”!
Cheers, Cindy
{OnDecor provided the wallpaper for this post, however all opinions are 100% my own}

Cindy, I ordered the paper for a small area in our living room. I love the look and feel of it. But, boy we are having to reorder again. Trying to match the design leaves a whole lot of waste. Probably wouldn’t have started this project if we had known but it’s so pretty and when we get next roll in maybe we can finish project. I do love it though. Thx
Oh, Cherry, I’m so sorry! I had very little waste with ours. The patterns matched very easily with little waste left over. Fingers crossed the next roll finished it up for you!
Love, love the peel and stick wallpaper you chose!
Everything looks so good. It is amazing what trim can add. I love the pattern you chose for the wallpaper. Want to try something like that behind shelving in living area.
Thank you, Cherry!
It looks beautiful, Cindy. I love all the detail. I have a question about the wallpaper. I have slightly textured walls more of an orange peel effect. The peel and stick papers that I’ve tried show all those little bumps. Does this paper leave more of a smoother finish? Do you have texted walls?
Our walls are not textured, but I don’t think this wallpaper would cover the texture up. Even though it has a “linen like” finish, it’s still thin enough that I think it would still show the texture underneath. I wish I could be of more help!
Everything looks wonderful, Cindy! The hall is spectacular!
Thank you, Linda!
You are brave!! It will be so beautiful when you’re finished. I can’t wait to see how you re-style everything! I love Agreeable Grey, it is such a perfect neutral. My kitchen, two story foyer, upstairs hallway and two guest rooms are painted in it. I love your stark white in your living room also. Bright & crisp. I may have to go back to white in my great room. Now it is a dark taupe and I’m kindof over it. Thank you for showing us the progress on your beautiful home!! I love these posts!!
Thank you, Beth! I’m loving the crispness of the white walls!
Beautiful! As usual, with all your renovations.
Thank you so much, Rebecca!
Brilliant. The molding has changed the whole look of the room. How elegant.
Thank you, Elizabeth!
Cindy the molding makes such a difference. It truly striking.
Thank you! I agree, Alice! Adding moulding immediately elevates any room that it’s in!
Cindy, I’m loving the wall mouldings and Chantilly Lace is a great white. Are you using semi gloss on the mouldings only or on the whole wall? It’s hard to tell from some of the photos. I’m considering doing some mouldings too and was wondering about what paint sheen to use. Thanks.
Thank you so much, Char! We are using semi gloss for the entire wall, so that it has the appearance of wood. However, a satin finish is also a wonderful finish to use.
